Using GBG in Your Course
Determine
the learning objectives
Before beginning to configure The Global Business Game it helps
to take time to state specifically what you want all players to
come away with from the experience.
|
Your objectives may include:
|
| |
 |
reinforcing knowledge gained in the student's preceding course
or semester,
|
| |
 |
having the game serve as an introduction to advanced level
coursework in the strategic management major or a major in
international business or finance, or
|
| |
 |
acting as a "capstone" or integrating experience at the end
of a business program.
|
Decide
on game configuration - tailor your game
In addition to the above mentioned options, you may introduce "critical
incidents" during the game. The critical incidents present
additional ethical and human factor challenges for your students.
Tie
simulation into your course curriculum
Once you have created your set of learning objectives, present
them as part of your course syllabus. On the day you hand out your
syllabus, take a few minutes to go over why you have chosen to use
a business game. Post the game's learning objectives somewhere in
your office in a readily visible spot. This is so you will stay
focused on "the big picture" and rise above the excitement you have
produced by using The Global Business Game.
Once you register as GBG Instructor, you will find that the instructor
materials and templates provided within the simulation make the
process of adding the simulation to your course very straightforward.
